This soap is handmade, in small batches, with matcha powder - which is known for its wonderful skin benefits. Because I can't go into too much detail here on Etsy, I would encourage you to read in depth online about the wonderful ways matcha can benefit skin.
This soap was made by infusing matcha powder in olive oil for a period of one week. Then, the olive oil was used in a soap recipe formulated for a rich lather.This soap features:
~aloe vera
~matcha infused saponified olive oil
~saponified castor oil
~ saponified coconut oil
~ saponified beef tallow
~organic nettle leaf powder
I strive to avoid using palm oil, fragrances and artificial colorants in my soaps, instead, keeping things as simple (and natural) as possible.
*This soap is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians - I am a huge advocate of the nose to tail philosophy, and use of tallow in my soap and body butter recipes. Rendering suet is a wonderful way to bring a close to the circle of life and use something that is wonderful for hair, skin, and body.
Each bar comes wrapped and labeled with the soap name and ingredients.
*A note about matcha:
Matcha is a beautiful green color. However, it also has a lot of tannins! Those tannins react to the saponification process (soap making process) by transforming into a different color (brown!). In efforts to avoid an ugly brown soap, I infused the matcha in olive oil; then, allowed the oils and fats to come to room temperature prior to mixing the soap batter. Despite my efforts to avoid the soap turning brown, the soap batter turned dark brown at the time of pouring in the mold. To my surprise, the soap turned back to a rich, green color once un-molded. While the pictures, above, show a deep, rich green, matcha soap can change colors over time (it can go lighter, and revert back to brown). So don't be alarmed if your soap isn't a rich shade of green - when keeping soap as natural as possible, there are going to be color changes. That doesn't affect the quality of the soap.
Ingredients include: Aloe Vera, distilled water, saponified oils (Matcha infused olive oil, castor oil, coconut oil, beef tallow), organic nettle powder. No fragrance added.
