Cottonwood Oil, also known as Balm of Gilead Oil, is a very well known herbal oil with many admirable qualities that make it fantastic for supporting healthy skin.

Cottonwood Trees are found in the Pacific Northwest (Populus Balsamifiera) as well as the Southwest (Populus Fremontii). The buds of the tree are available late winter/very early spring – it is those buds that exude a sticky resin that is referred to as “Balm of Gilead” (Cottonwood oil).
The salicylates found in cottonwood are relatives of aspirin, and cottonwood has a significant amount of qualities that make it wonderful for supporting skin in a variety of ways.
To make this infused oil, the sticky, resinous buds are hand collected from the ground and fallen branches in the fall/early spring. The fresh buds are then double infused in extra virgin olive oil for a period of 8-12 weeks, under controlled heat, then bottled into 1 oz. amber (brown) glass bottles with a dropper.
Not only is Cottonwood Infused Oil special in terms of the support it offers skin, the salve has a sweet, natural aroma. Apply externally to support healthy skin.
