Prickly Pear Fruit are the beautiful deep red and green fruit of the prickly pear cactus. The season for prickly pears in Arizona runs from August to October - the fruits are commonly called "tuna" or cactus apple, and they can be eaten raw or added to smoothies.
The fruit can be eaten raw or added to smoothies. Slice down the side and peel the outer layer off to reveal an inner fruit with seeds. Fruit can be added to soap (see our Prickly Pear items!), lip gloss and more.
The prickly pear cactus contains amino acids, vitamin B, calcium, beta-carotene, magnesium, and iron, and it is just as good slathered on your skin as it is ingested.
This lip gloss is rich in pastured tallow, which is a powerhouse for skin, and colored naturally with alkanet root powder.
